Let's talk about making external requests from another platform. Comment below what platform and exactly how you envision you would use an API to communicate with Botsheets.

We just rolled out Webhooks so you can get data collected from your Botsheets chatbots into other platforms. You'll find Webhooks in Bot Settings > General

Damn, I'm coming late to the party and I see almost no comment from the users. That's sad because the lack of engagement can only mean the users aren't interested in the API development, so it would become a low priority for the team.

So here I am to give my two cents...

I'm thinking Chatbase, right now there are a couple of tutorials on YouTube showing how you can connect ManyChat + Chatbase + OpenAI to have an AI chatbot in ManyChat.

I'm not a techy guy so I'm going to provide a few examples of what I think could be great and that would position Botsheets as a great solution to boost ManyChat capabilities, as you have done in the past with the galleries via sheets plugin you already have.

Generate AI response from user input

Pretty self explanatory, when a user asks a questions, we bring this data into Botsheets to generate a response, that will then be passed back into ManyChat as a response via a custom field "ai_response".

    Detect Intention System

One powerful thing around OpenAI is its ability to detect user's intention. I imagine building a sheet with the intentions list along with proper descriptions for each, so Botsheets can output the matched intention into a custom field or even trigger an specific flow, which leads me to...

    Trigger Specific Flows

The one feature that would be absolutely KILLER is to be able to trigger flows from within a sheet, and this is something you already know how to do. This feature could be a nice addition to the intent detection system, as it would trigger an specific flow.

Call an Specific Source upon Request

When you have the ability to trigger flows from within Botsheets, it could be even more powerful if the flow we trigger could request information from an specific source or group of sources, accelerating the response from the AI.

    Scenario 1 Example:

    1. A user asks for gallery of properties

    2. We match the input with the proper intention

    3. Via the intention we trigger an specific flow

    4. The flow includes an action to generate a gallery (Botsheets for ManyChat)

    Scenario 2 Example:

    1. A user asks for a list of products on offer

    2. We match the input with the proper intention

    3. Via the intention we trigger an specific flow

    4. The flow calls an specific resource from Botsheets AI

    5. We generate a response from the specific resource

That would be my two cents.

And while in this scenario I'm talking about ManyChat, it could apply to any other platform like Chatfuel, Uchat, Chatbot Builder, etc.

But let's be honest, ManyChat is pretty much the standard and the first platform people jump on to when trying to start with automation. Botsheets can only benefit from the slow adoption of AI capabilties from the ManyChat platform.

Is this something that looks possible for you?

    Love you guys,

    Best vibes

The API is currently in Beta and in active development. Please note that API endpoints and features are subject to change.

Get an API key in Bot Settings > API

    Documentation:

    https://botsheets.readme.io/

We don't have documentation yet for platform-specific integrations (How do I use this with _________ ?), but if you know what you're doing and want to share (Blog, Youtube, etc.) we're happy to share your content in our communities (Facebook, Discord) and even reference it in the product and/or product documentation.

You can see the status of this one is "In progress" rather than completed, but this action item is to make external requests from 3rd party apps. What API Key are you looking for? Are you a Manychat user looking for a Botsheets Key for a Manychat plugin? Are you looking for an OpenAI Key to connect GPT? If you can clarify what you need with some more context, that would be more helpful and actionable for support. Thx!

I look at BotSheets as a way to train an AI with own data that I can have easy access to, and modify on demand, it is priceless unless you want to get into transformers and hugging face and data binding or the other route and use custom GPTs.
I do not see BotSheets as a chatbot itself I think that for me the ease of use to train data is at the heart of it's functionalities.

Working on bots that do specific content analysis for SEO based on the prompt I add and the series of data I add on my google sheets.
If i were to have APIs I will create multiple bots that take care of very specific tasks and have them work together almost like AI Agents.

But having the API will be greatly beneficial.

Another thing I am looking to work on is to have a bot writing to a sheet that other bot uses as dataset, that will be interesting and query against that for part of the process.

So in short HECK YEAH API is highly beneficial.

Hi, Josh. I have an idea that primarily concerns ManyChat, but also any similar bot builder And can you make it so that in Manychat in a message set a url button. And in this button insert a link to Direct Link Botsheets.

BUT Add 'conversationId' parameter to the link, which will be equal to Manychat ContactID (or any other necessary value of parameter) and then the final link will look like this: https://chat.botsheets.com/chat/660dbddb50a7a217?conversationId={{ContactID}} (Something like UTM tags)
That is, in this parameter we tell the BS bot what the conversationId value should be.

The idea is that when going from ManyChat bot by direct link to BotSheets bot, the bot would launch by url. And then BS will remember the user by ContactID, which will always be substituted as a value for conversationId

And then, if one and the same ManyChat user in different period of time will enter by direct link to BS, then the bot will not ask him answers to questions that he has already received earlier from the same client. And it won't ask for his name every time, etc.

It seems to me a very good idea. What do you think?

P.S. Because now every new visit to the direct link generates a random conversationId until the end of the session (closing the browser) And it is worth the client to close the browser and come in a few seconds again, then again will be - State your name, etc. etc.
P.P.S And if there is no conversationId parameter in the direct link, then let the BS bot generate a regular random variant of the conversationId

As an agency we would like the ability to create & manage our client bots via API instead of through the Botsheets Dashboard.

When onboarding new clients through our portal it would be ideal to be able to automatically generate a new bot instead of having to manually create the bots in Botsheets dashboard.

Currently our clients have the ability to review their chatbot's performance (engagements and conversion rates), review & export their leads, and manage billing within our client portal. If Botsheets provided an API to manage the bots, we could also provide our clients with the ability to customize their bots as well. As of now, it seems most customizations will need to be done manually on our end through Botsheets Dashboard.
