What marketers want is often not what users want when they engage with a business. How marketers envision a conversation is not usually the way the conversation flows in reality.
The way Botsheets was designed was that a bot would autonomously decide what questions to ask and when to ask them. The idea stems from past experience where marketers would try and "Script" their own conversation funnels, or create sequences... those never work because users will often ask questions or send messages that change a conversational flow unexpectedly as designed by a marketer. This is how things work in human sales conversations as well. Things take a number of unexpected turns.
For example, you might want to collect an email address, but the user then responds with a question and from that question, you might follow up with a similar or related question. If they say "I'm looking for a condo with 2 bathrooms", you might follow up and ask "How many bedrooms?". This is a more natural conversation flow where AI determines on the fly how to proceed to collect the data that matters. You can't script this.
BUT....
How important is it to you to enforce the order by which data fields are collected? Should there be an option to arrange the order of fields and toggle on "Enforce Data Collection Order", which would instruct AI to only collect data in a specific order regardless of how the conversation flows? Maybe you prioritize the importance of fields collected, and higher priority fields are collected first?

I like the idea of prioritizing the fields and giving the AI a sequence to follow. I wonder if you could take it a bit further. In addition to the sequence, could you add the ability to tell the bot how important it is to get certain information. Could you, for example, say that anything marked as a "A" (or whatever) that the bot would continue to ask for that info and won't take no for an answer. And then anything marked a "B" would have the bot ask at the onset and then if the user doesn't want to give the info, the bot knows to circle back later in the conversation and to try again, but not nearly as pushy as "A" where the bot essentially asks for the info every interaction. And then "C" would be that the bot asks once and if not given, they doesn't ask again....unless it becomes paramount to the task. ie. the user wants to book an appointment so email or phone is required.
Or is that something better handled within the prompt instructions?

A data point can be extracted from a user's message and then the bot wouldn't even need to ask the question to collect it because the user already provided the data point in their message. You can also set fields as required, or desired which would influence the behavior of the bot. If it's required, the bot would be persistent about collecting it. If it's not it would ask once and move on. Those rules are in the base prompt which you can edit, so you can change the rules.

You can now prioritize the order for data collection in Bot Settings > Data Note that you'll need to remove tasks listed in your Base Prompt that enforce data collection order as that would override this.
You can modify the Base Prompt to include something like "Ask the first datapoint listed if you are unsure" or "Follow the order in which data points are listed and provided"
Look at ordering data points more as a "Nudge" for AI

Hey everyone. You can use the Prompt Editor to arrange the collection of data points. Remove the rule that says "Collect data in a logical order". Add a rule in the prompt that says "You must collect the data in the following order: 1. [ your data point exactly as you input it]
2. [ your data point exactly as you input it]
etc...
Your bot should generate questions to collect data in the order you include in the prompt.
